Tash Bryant Joins Athena Pathway as Countdown Begins for the Inaugural Women’s America’s Cup
Athena Pathway is thrilled to welcome accomplished youth sailor Tash Bryant to the team as the inaugural Women’s America’s Cup countdown begins.
Tash’s sailing resume speaks for itself: she earned the prestigious title of 29er Youth World Champion in 2016 and was named Australian Female Sailor of the Year in 2017. Her accolades continue with a 1st place finish in the Under 21 World Championships in the 49erFX class in 2020, which also secured Australia's spot in the 49erFX for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Raised in Newport, Sydney, after her British parents relocated to Australia in 1996, Tash began sailing alongside her brother Nathan in the Manly Junior class at a young age. Sailing the waters of Sydney, she quickly developed a passion for the sport.

Hannah Mills, commenting on the squad’s new addition, shared: “Tash applied early on for the Athena Pathway selection and eventually joined us in Barcelona to trial with the team. She dedicated significant time in the simulator, and that experience has seamlessly translated into her performance on the AC40. With the Women’s America’s Cup approaching, we’re thrilled to have her on board.”
Building on her successful youth career, Tash has also played a pivotal role as a strategist in the Australian SailGP team. In this role, she is responsible for analysing wind conditions, assisting Tom Slingsby with manoeuvres, and keeping a close watch on the F50 fleet. Tash has contributed to three event victories and helped secure Australia's third consecutive championship in SailGP Season 3.

Sailing team coach Chris Draper added: “Tash joins the Athena squad with incredible energy and readiness. Getting into the AC40 early and sailing alongside some of the most accomplished female sailors is a huge opportunity, and she’s fully embraced it. Her tactical insights have already proven invaluable during our performance phase.”
We’re stoked to have you on board, Tash!
